For a more dynamic performance, the Golf R’s power is transferred to the road care of our 4MOTION all-wheel drive system. It provides the Golf R with the best possible traction at all road speeds, on any road condition and in all weather. 4MOTION regulates torque distribution, so when you’re accelerating the grip is evenly distributed and slipping is reduced. An electronic Haldex clutch also works during traction loss to redirect torque to axles with the best traction, helping you to maintain ultimate steering control.

Unapologetically athletic
The Golf R’s sportive engine has got the body to match. High gloss black highlights emphasise the sleek and determined stance of its 3 or 5-door shape, from the R-specific radiator grille and air intakes with louvre style inserts, to the brake callipers glimmering through the Talladega 18” alloy wheels. Widened side sills and a lower front spoiler emphasise the lowered sports suspension, trimmed with black headlight housing and dual exposed chrome exhaust tail pipes.

Spectacular surrounds
Slip behind the wheel of the Golf R, then recline in the R top sports seats, with height and lumbar adjustment, tailored in a combination of Kyalami black cloth and San Remo microfibre. While you change gears using the leather and aluminium plated gearshift knob and aluminium pedals, glimpse over the blue needled instrument dials with Silver Lane decorative trim.
